Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.

The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
