Several Injured as In-Flight Disturbance Strikes A Delta Airlines Aircraft into Sydney

Several people have been injured when a Delta Airlines jet traveling from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia experienced turbulence this past Friday.

Flight DL41 "experienced a brief period of turbulence" as it made its approach and landed at the Sydney airport, a representative for the carrier stated. A number of the onboard staff required medical attention.

Local paramedics stated they evaluated a total of five people, and took a trio to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries that comprised spinal discomfort and headaches. Those affected spanned from their thirties and seventies.

It is the latest incident of commercial jets experiencing turbulence, with researchers saying that climate change is a significant contributor.

On board were 245 passengers and a crew of 15 on the wide-body jet, the representative said, adding that the plane landed "safely" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday.

The NSW Ambulance Service reported they were alerted just three minutes before the plane landed, and emergency vehicles were ready and waiting at the airport.
