The City of Angels experienced widespread celebrations after the Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe joined local residents in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Draws Massive Turnout
Local celebrations featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Angelenos flooding city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to do this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a less warm welcome at the rally. Recordings from the gathering appear to show Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and jeers, with jeers interrupting his address.
The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
