Individuals of an Italy-based clan of burglars who took more than £1.2m valued of items, including from former Newcastle United forward Isak, have been ordered to return just £1 per person.

Siblings Valentino and Giacomo Nikolov, their sister Jela Jovanovic and her child Charlie travelled to the north-east of the UK to raid three houses in April 2024.

The foursome were imprisoned for between a decade or less in 2025.

At a criminal assets hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, Jela and the brothers Nikolov were instructed to repay £1 each while Charlie must pay over a thousand pounds.

Details of the Burglaries

The court was told the group arrived by boat in the UK on March 27, 2024 and used a RV as their "headquarters", which they parked at Scotch Corner and Durham service stations while utilizing another car to scout out targets and execute burglaries.

On March 31 they took over one million pounds of goods including high-end fashion, handbags, jewellery and a honor from a residence on Clayton Road in Jesmond, Newcastle, while the owners were on holiday.

The following night, the crew entered a home on a private road in Whitburn, and stole luxury bags, valuables and shoes worth over £100,000.

After scouting out the football club's training ground for 48 hours, they then struck at the home of Swedish player Alexander Isak in Darras Hall on 4 April, taking ten thousand pounds in money, £68,000 valued of jewelry and the striker's £120,000 luxury car.

They were apprehended in the Birmingham on April 13.

Court Proceedings and Rulings

Valentino Nikolov had denied the burglary plot but was found guilty by jurors, while his family members had all submitted guilty pleas to the identical accusation.

At the proceeds of crime hearing, prosecutor the prosecution said every one of the burglars had benefited from their offenses to the amount of over £1.2 million, which was determined by what the affected parties said they had lost.

The judge Spragg said if they were discovered with property in the coming years, "such as driving around in Italy in a fast car or owning a home", prosecutors could initiate further action to "recover the amount due".
